Helping Hands for Hoarders
Our names are Angela Butcher and Tina Key and we would like to introduce you to our service and explain a little about what we do.
We set up Helping Hands for Hoarders to provide bespoke hands on support for people who need help in tackling hoarding behaviours. We also offer help to people who are down-sizing to a smaller property and for those who generally just need a helping hand to get back on top of things.
We run a hoarding behaviours support group in Whitney to support people with hoarding behaviours as well as family and friends. Professionals are also welcome to join the group which is held on the first Wednesday of each month.
Additional services we provide are one off deep cleans and hoarding behaviours awareness and safeguarding training.
We are based in West Oxfordshire but are able to cover a wide range of areas including Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Other areas will be considered upon request.
We offer person-centred support to individuals and their families and work with clients to an agreed action plan to tackle hoarding behaviours.
We have established links with key stakeholders including local authorities, fire brigades, adult social services, housing associations and multiple charities.
Angela has had a varied career but over the last 7 years has worked in the NHS supporting mainly older vulnerable adults to ensure they are able to remain in their homes. During this time she realised that there are many individuals who require additional help in respect of hoarding and decluttering but there is very little help and support for them.
Tina has also had a varied career but over the last 20 years has worked in social housing delivering housing related services to residents. She has worked with other hoarding professionals and set up a bespoke in-house service to work with residents who had hoarding behaviours. She has also had personal experience of living with a hoarder.
We have a valid DBS check which can be viewed upon request.
Our rates are available upon request.
