They offer holistic advice delivered by quality assured trained advisors.
Information is given on the law, rights and obligations and services available.
Clients are offered an initial assessment to explore their problems and find the best way of helping them.

Dorothy House Welfare Rights Team: Can look at maximising your income through benefits and grants and reducing expenditure which may involve debt advice and fuel tariffs, etc. This service is available to persons already involved with Dorothy House.

Help paying for a funeral
If you are concerned that you are unable to meet the costs of the funeral, please discuss this with the funeral director when you first meet them and they will advise you.
If the person who died has not left enough money to cover the costs of the funeral and you receive any low income benefits, you may be entitled to receive help from the Department for Work and Pensions.

The new Bereavement Support Payment was announced on 12 January 2017. It will be introduced for those bereaved from 6 April 2017.
Bereavement Support Payment replaces Bereavement Payment, Bereavement Allowance and Widowed Parent’s Allowance.
