Employment Support Allowance provides financial support for people with disabilities or long term health conditions entering or retaining employment.

WEST will continue to review those they have supported and find out how they are getting on in their paid work and support them in sustaining their employment until they are ready to do so independently. WEST can also support those people already in work who are having issues and who wish to sustain their paid employment. Access Criteria for the service would still be adhered to.
An Access to Work grant can pay for practical support if you have a disability, health or mental health condition to help you: start working stay in work move into self-employment or start a business.
ACAS is an independent and impartial organisation that does not side with a particular party, but rather will help the parties to reach suitable resolutions in a dispute. Acas provide information, advice, training, conciliation and other services for employers and employees to help prevent or resolve workplace problems. The Acas Helpline provides clear, confidential, independent and impartial advice to both employers and employees. You can also use Helpline Online to ask a question.

This can help you get and keep a job if you’re disabled and find it hard to work. It’s voluntary – you don’t have to do it. The type of support you get depends on the help you need. This is different for everyone but can include: training and developing your skills, building your confidence, interview coaching. You can apply if you have a job but are at risk of losing it because of your disability. This also applies if you're self-employed. Advice/guidance for Access to Work assessments. RNIB can carry out their own work-based assessments and make recommendations on equipment, software and adjustments that will better allow your employees to do their job. We have a wealth of experience in providing assessments specifically for blind and partially sighted people. We offer Visual Awareness Training to new and old employers, this can be tailored to requirement. Communication, Common Eye Conditions, The Law & Disability, Environment, Hints & Tips on Guiding. Our Retention Service offers support with general advice & guidance and help with more complex issues when experiencing sight loss whilst in work, this covers all areas i.e. what to do if off sick, employee options and employer responsibilities. RNIB Legal Rights Helpline - Our Legal Rights Service can help blind and partially sighted people if experiencing discrimination whilst at work.
